So I'm at the airport in GR, and I'm trying to figure out what sessions I want to go to tomorrow. I'm struggling with one in particular. Here's the dilemma:
My students (and I'd be willing to say MOST students) struggle with language in some novels, like our current endeavor Frankenstein. Next up is Hamlet and I'm anticipating some extreme issues with Shakespearean language. During one of the morning sessions tomorrow, there is a session that deals with bringing Shakespeare to students in a highly interactive way, using blogs, wikis, role-play, and pop-culture. However, there is also a session on incorporating one-to-one laptop instruction into the classroom. Since Mattawan is heading in the direction of one to one laptop use, it seems as though this may be a really helpful session. I'm curious about the versatility of lessons and how other English teachers use this tool.
Thoughts?
